Meet Jasmine

Two decades in Waverley West, and a lifetime of showing up for the people around her.
Her story
A 20-year resident of Waverley West, Jasmine has built her life in the community she is now seeking to represent at City Hall. She lives here with her husband, their two children, and their dog Teddy, and has spent two decades watching Waverley West grow into one of Winnipeg's largest and most diverse communities.
Jasmine immigrated to Canada from India at the age of 16. Like so many families who have made Winnipeg home, her story has been shaped by hard work, family, opportunity, and a belief in giving back to the community that helped her build a life here. Today, Waverley West is not simply where Jasmine lives — it is where she has raised her family, built her career, volunteered her time, and chosen to serve.
Her commitment to public service led Jasmine to elected office as the Pembina Trails School Trustee for Ward 3, where she represents families and communities across southwest Winnipeg. Her experience as a trustee has given her firsthand experience working within a large public institution, making decisions on behalf of residents, and understanding the responsibility that comes with representing a community.
Closer to home, Jasmine is the Founder and President of the Prairie Pointe Neighbourhood Association. Her involvement at the neighbourhood level reflects the kind of leadership she believes matters most: being present, listening to residents, bringing people together, and working on the everyday issues that shape the quality of life in a growing community.
Professionally, Jasmine is a Business Manager at the University of Manitoba's Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, bringing experience in administration and management at one of Manitoba's largest public institutions. Her service at the university extends beyond her professional role. She serves as a Senator on the University of Manitoba Senate representing the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, and sits on the University of Manitoba Board of Governors.
Jasmine also serves on the Board of Directors of the Victoria Hospital Foundation, continuing a record of community involvement that spans education, health care, neighbourhood advocacy, and public service.
Across each of these roles, the common thread has been service — to families, to institutions, and to the community she calls home.
After 20 years in Waverley West, Jasmine understands both what makes this community special and the pressures that come with rapid growth. She is running for City Councillor because she believes Waverley West deserves experienced, accessible representation at City Hall and a councillor who understands the community not from the outside, but as a neighbour who has lived, worked, raised a family, volunteered, and served here for decades.

Waverley West is one of Winnipeg's fastest-growing communities, but growth has outpaced delivery. Residents are waiting too long for intersection fixes, reliable transit, the promised aquatic centre, and basic maintenance in our newest neighbourhoods.

Contributions are accepted from individuals only — not businesses or unions. Maximum contribution to a councillor candidate is $750.
We'll provide an official receipt for every donation.
